Is my radio single or double DIN?

The major difference between single DIN and double DIN is size. You’ll know if you have a double DIN as it’s substantially bigger. A single din radio measures roughly 7×2 inches whereas a double DIN comes in at 7″ x 4″.

What is a double DIN stereo?

The double DIN is a bigger stereo. It allows for a screen and therefore had a lot more features such as Apple Car Play, Android Auto, GPS system, DVD player and much more. Oh yeah, fun fact: DIN stands for “Deutsche Industrie Norm.”

Which is better, single DIN or double DIN?

If you are the kind of person that needs a CD player, Bluetooth, radio and hands free calling, and you don’t need the more advanced features, then a single din unit with be enough for you and you will save a lot of money over the more expensive double din units with more features. However…
